Let's "refurbish" an old painting

I like to rework my old paintings. Here is a good example. The first version was nice but tiny, small, restricited. I now decided to expand it through the framing and added a new coating. The result is more crazy but more fancy as well.

Do you like it now or before ?

One day, my wife saw the following painting and told me: "It is you !!!". Surprised, I answered: "No it is just an English business man". She insisted: "No I am sure it is you, it is a self portrait". Now I am convinced that it is my self portrait as an English business man, maybe in a past or future life. Who knows !

My "Fetiche" painting

Posted by hervealexandre on January 10, 2008 at 10:01 PM Comments comments (1)

The "Mexican mother and son" is my fetiche painting for many reasons. First of all, it was such a pain !. It took me one year with a lot of headaches and nightmares to achieve it. The easel was in the middle of the bedroom and I was able to wake up at night to change a detail. Finally it is definitely one of the best and the most loved painting by many people. It is also a fetiche painting because it alsways followed us, me and my family in many places where we lived. It is part of my day to day live and I see this two Mexican fellows all life long.

That's why it is on my front page!!
